Sixty-Minute Overview Teaching

In sixty minutes or less, Chad will present a compelling overview of his extensive research on conflict engagement. Beginning with Scripture and continuing through a review of the recommendations of top leadership practitioners, this program format drives home one main message: God has called all believers to live as peacemakers with a commitment to address, not avoid interpersonal conflict when it arises.

The format is best suited for use as a worship service message or conference breakout session. Chad draws the teaching to a close by calling each group to look to the Lord in prayer for help and to make a faith commitment to peacemaking. The two-hour instructional or six-hour intensive programs are great next steps to further equip and empower church leadership teams with proven conflict engagement skills.

Two-Hour Instructional Training

In a single two-hour session or in two one-hour sessions, Chad will answer two probing questions: 1) What does the Bible say about conflict, and 2) How does conflict impact God’s Kingdom and the local church? Participants will learn why believes must address and not avoid conflict, make peace face to face, rely on the Holy Spirit, and engage in restorative dialog God’s way. Chad also unveils six ways that unresolved or poorly-handled conflict negatively impacts local church ministry and how to avoid those consequences through restorative dialogue.

This format is best suited for use as a Sunday worship sermon series, lay leadership training focus, or Christian education class. The two-hour timeframe allows for group exercises as well as personalized application of the material to each group’s unique needs. The six-hour intensive program is a great next step to further equip and empower church leadership teams with proven conflict engagement skills.

Six-Hour Intensive Training with Practical Application Exercises

In two three-hour sessions (usually) over two consecutive days, Chad presents an engaging and transformative training intensive that significantly improves the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the participants. Along with the material included with the two-hour program, Chad also trains the group in six proven best practices for addressing conflict successfully. Ample time is given for group discussion, role playing exercises, and personalized application of the content. The atmosphere is light-hearted and focussed so that participants feel open to participate freely while learning essential content.

This format is best suited for use as a staff or leadership training event. Both paid and volunteer leaders will find personal and ministry applications in the training. Senior leaders are advised to personally invite key influencers who regularly impact the church’s culture. In 2017, Chad was certified as a trainer of the world-renown Crucial Conversations training by VitalSmarts. Over eight hours, Chad will facilitate the program for groups of eight to eighty people. Participants learn the dialogue skills demonstrated by top performers—skills that help you talk with anyone about anything to reach alignment and agreement on important matters.
